Military officers reportedly prevented elders of the Kristo Asafo Mission from entering the Kantanka Museum at the Apostle Safo Suayɛ Centre of Excellence in Gomoa Mpota, Central Region, on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

The denial of access followed reports that the group had planned to exhume the remains of the late founder, Emeritus Prof Apostle Ing Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

Video footage shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on September 7, 2026, shows uniformed military personnel at the entrance interacting with civilians, directing people away from the gate, and maintaining a presence near vehicles and barriers at the site.

In the footage, a man could be heard accusing the guards, saying, “You people that the church pays you, you are denying us entry.”

The incident adds a new layer to the prolonged family and church succession dispute that has surrounded the late Kantanka since his death on September 11, 2025.

Meanwhile, fashion personality and Kristo Asafo member Osebo the Zaraman publicly raised the alarm on September 6 about an alleged plot to exhume the body, attributing it to figures linked to Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena and church leaders.

Separate social media posts indicated that some elders of the Mission denied the exhumation allegations.

The Kantanka Museum forms part of the larger Apostle Safo Suayɛ Centre, which houses exhibits related to the late leader’s technological and industrial work.
