Desmond Korlettey of Kenpong Football Academy has made history by winning four Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards in the MTN Elite U-19 Championship.

The prodigious striker has consistently delivered excellent performances over the years and was adjudged the tournament's overall best player.

In the 2026 edition, Korlettey captained the Central Regional team to a third-place finish. He set the tone in the opening game against the Greater Accra Region, producing an outstanding display.

His impressive form continued with MVP-winning performances against the Northern Region and Upper East Region, helping his side secure a semi-final spot.

He capped it off with another stellar showing in the third-place play-off, inspiring Central Region to a 3-0 victory over Brong Ahafo and earning his fourth MVP award.

Beyond his brilliant performances, Korlettey’s prolific goalscoring ability stood out once again, as he finished as joint top scorer with six goals, cementing his reputation as one of the brightest prospects in Ghanaian youth football.



The Kenpong Football Academy, owned by Ghanaian businessman Kennedy Agyapong and based in Winneba, Central Region, continues to produce footballing talents for national teams and clubs.



Korlettey is now tipped for a potential call-up to Ghana’s juvenile national teams, with his blistering form seen as a major asset in grooming future stars for the country.
