The National Food Buffer Stock Company Ltd (NAFCO) has warned the public against individuals allegedly posing as agents of the company and promising to secure food supply contracts to second-cycle schools in exchange for money.

According to NAFCO, it has become aware of the activities of some unscrupulous persons who are going around claiming to have influence over the allocation and award of contracts for the supply of food to schools.

In a statement issued by NAFCO’s Corporate Affairs Department on September 3, 2026, the company said these individuals are allegedly soliciting money from unsuspecting members of the public under the pretext of helping them secure food supply contracts.

NAFCO has therefore stressed that no third party is engaged in the award or allocation of contracts for food supplies to schools.

The company further explained that it operates an open-door policy under which interested entities are required to register at any of its offices nationwide and undergo a rigorous, merit-based selection process.

It said the selection process is conducted without the influence or involvement of third parties.

NAFCO has consequently urged members of the public to disregard anyone who claims to have the ability to influence the award or selection of food supply contracts in return for payment.

The company also advised anyone who encounters such individuals to report them to the nearest police station for the appropriate action.

For further clarification on NAFCO’s operations, the public can contact the company through its hotlines, 0244669709, 0549004501 and 0269983462, or via info@nafco.gov.gh.
