Former Minister of Food and Agriculture Ibrahim Adam has reportedly passed away.
Ibrahim Adam, who also served as the Member of Parliament for the former Choggu/Tishigu Constituency, died at an undisclosed time.
His death was announced by the Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Atta Issah, in a Facebook post on August 30, 2026.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. Ibrahim Adam. I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family, the people of the Northern Region, and the entire NDC. From near and afar, I learned much from his wisdom, dedication, and service. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him mercy, and receive him into Jannah. Ameen,” Atta Issah wrote.
Ibrahim Adam was an animal scientist and veteran politician who served as Agriculture Secretary and later as Minister for Food and Agriculture under the administration of former President Jerry John Rawlings.

He represented the Choggu/Tishigu Constituency in Parliament from 1997 to 2001.
Beyond his ministerial and parliamentary service, Ibrahim Adam also served as Board Chairman of the Agricultural Development Bank.
