Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating more jobs, arguing that Ghana already has the resources, market and human capital needed to drive economic prosperity.

In a post on X, Dr Ato Forson said the country must move beyond its existing potential by transforming available resources and opportunities into productive economic activity.

“We must turn potential into production, production into jobs, and jobs into prosperity!” he wrote.

The Finance Minister stressed that job creation must remain a collective national priority, pointing to the availability of resources and a ready market as key foundations for economic growth.

“Together, we must create jobs. The resources are here. The market is here. The people are ready,” he added.

His comments come as job creation remains a major issue for Ghana, particularly among young people seeking opportunities in the formal and private sectors.

Nonetheless, with resources, consumers and a large pool of potential workers available, he believes Ghana has the basic ingredients required to build a more productive economy.
