The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has congratulated all newly elected regional executives of the party following the successful conclusion of elections across the regions.

In a press statement issued by the party’s Communications Directorate on Sunday, 16th August, 2026, the flagbearer highlighted that the peaceful conduct of the polls reaffirms the party’s dedication to internal democracy and respect for the will of its delegates.

Dr Bawumia expressed strong confidence in the ability of the new leadership to steer the party toward future political success.

“Dr Bawumia is confident that the newly elected executives will provide the leadership required to strengthen the Party and position it for victory in the 2028 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections,” the statement noted.

Acknowledging the contributions of all aspirants, the NPP flagbearer praised those who contested for demonstrating a commitment to serving the party, while encouraging former candidates to join forces with the victor executive team.

“He also commends all candidates for offering themselves for service and urges the unsuccessful candidates to rally behind the newly elected executives,” the release added.

Stressing the need to shift focus toward party cohesion and campaign strategy, the statement emphasized that the internal contest has ended and the work to secure electoral victory in 2028 must commence immediately.

“The regional contest is over, the greater task is unity and renewed energy to secure victory in 2028 and it begins now,” the statement concluded.
