Cameroon produced a dominant performance to beat Malawi 3-0 and win their first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title in Rabat on Sunday.
The Indomitable Lionesses made a blistering start, with Marie Ngah opening the scoring in the 20th minute.
Naomi Ndjoah Eto doubled Cameroon’s advantage nine minutes later before Ngah struck again in first-half stoppage time to give her side a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
WAFCON 2026: 'We are ready to get going' - Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah Malawi struggled to respond after the interval as Cameroon maintained control of the contest.
Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene added a fourth in stoppage time to cap a memorable victory, although some match reports list the final score as 3-0 despite the late goal event.
The triumph marks Cameroon’s first WAFCON title after previous runners-up finishes, while Malawi’s remarkable debut campaign ended with a historic runners-up finish.
