Council Member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, has charged the winners of the recently held regional executives’ elections to extend the olive branch to those who lost as soon as possible.

However, he said, it would bring unity to the party, since it needs unity to challenge the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“For me, those who won, I think that they should stretch the olive branch to those who lost. We need everybody on board to prosecute this agenda. I don’t think that it will be good for somebody to say that I have won, so those who competed against me, we are not going to allow them to come around us. I don’t think that it will be fair. Let’s bring everybody on board,” Ofori Asiamah stated.

Ofori Asiamah made this appeal to MyNewsGh.com shortly after the Central Regional NPP executives’ elections held in Mankessim.

Touching on the NPP’s four parliamentary seats in the Central Region, Ofori Asiamah said he felt worried about the situation of the NPP in the region and believed the party needs unity to challenge the NDC there.

“We have four constituencies, and that is not what we want to be. And I think that we can compete if we are united. So, let me say that going forward, we need to bring everybody on board to make sure that we are united to compete with NDC in the Central Region,” Mr Ofori Asiamah said.

Ofori Asiamah, who doubles as the former Transport Minister, said:

“Politics is about numbers, and we need to bring everybody on board, and I’m sure that if you are united with a common purpose, the common goal, we will win the Central Region, and once we win the region, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will become the president of Ghana.”

Ofori Asiamah again applauded the Electoral Commission, the Ghana Police Service, the party, as well as the organisational team, for the fair and peaceful elections.

In all, five (5) out of eleven (11) Central Regional NPP executives retained their positions, with Dr Joseph Kobina Essibu crowned as the newly elected Central Regional NPP Chairman.
