The founder and leader of Power Chapel Worldwide, Rev Victor Kusi Boateng, has declared his readiness to go to jail over his association with former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking to his congregation in a viral video clip, the founder of Power Chapel Worldwide, Rev Kusi Boateng, asserted that nothing can stop his friendship with Dr Bawumia and his wife, former Second Lady Samira Bawumia, who was present at the event.
He indicated that going to prison for his friends would not be the end of his life, adding that it would not be the first time he has been incarcerated.
“I want to say on my own pulpit that I don’t care whoever thinks about it; Dr Bawumia is my friend and will continue to be my friend. I will not hide it. I'm not a hypocrite. And if for this reason anybody wants to imprison me, go ahead.
“Prison is not for animals. It's for human beings. I've been there; I didn't die, I came back. And so it is not a crime to be a friend. And I want to say that Dr Bawumia and Hajia Samira Bawumia are my friends, my sisters, my brothers, and my bosom friends, with no apology. Papa, am I right? With no apology, they are my friend,” he reiterated.
It is not clear why he made these remarks, but Rev Kusi Boateng, who was the Executive Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral of Ghana project, is the subject of an investigation into corruption allegations surrounding the project.
