Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been re-elected as the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He secured a decisive victory at the party’s regional elections held at Baakuniaba, near Sunyani, in the Bono Region.
Abronye retained as NPP Bono Regional Chairman
Abronye obtained 201 votes to retain the chairmanship, beating his closest contender, Joseph Mensah, who polled 31 votes.
In a video circulating on social media on August 16, 2026, Abronye is seen standing in an open vehicle and waving to residents as he passes through the area following his victory.
While he waves at people along the street, the residents seen in the video appear to be going about their normal duties, with little reaction to his presence.
A man filming the scene is heard teasing the re-elected chairman, saying, "No one is minding Abronye. He wants people to jubilate with him for winning the Regional Chairman position, but he has been completely ignored.”
