Latifa Teiya Fuseini, the Overall Best Graduating Student of the Ghana School of Law’s Class of 2025, has taken another major step in her legal career after gaining admission to Harvard Law School.

Fuseini gained national recognition after emerging as the top graduating student among the 824 candidates called to the Ghanaian Bar in 2025.

According to a post shared on social media by Legal Academy on August 16, 2026, her outstanding performance at the Ghana School of Law earned her the John Mensah Sarbah Memorial Prize, the institution’s highest honour awarded to the best all-round student.

She also received the award for Best Student in Conveyancing and Drafting, recognising her exceptional academic performance in property transfer and legal documentation.

Before enrolling at the Ghana School of Law, she graduated with First Class Honours from the Faculty of Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2023, with a Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 71.58.

She completed her secondary education at Achimota School in 2019.

Fuseini is the daughter of Alhaji A B A Fuseini, a former Member of Parliament for the Sagnarigu Constituency.

Her journey into law has also been shaped by a desire to challenge the limited representation of Muslim Dagomba women in the legal profession.

In previous interviews, she explained that her childhood ambition to become a lawyer was partly inspired by the historical underrepresentation of women from her background in the profession.

She expressed hope that her achievements would help break stereotypes and inspire young women, particularly those from Northern Ghana, to pursue careers in law and other professions.

The Legal Academy, in celebrating her latest achievement, described her progression from Ghana’s top law graduate to Harvard Law School as an accomplishment worth celebrating.
