Calm has been restored at a KFC branch in Ashaiman after a large crowd attempted to gain access to the facility, leading to chaos.
The incident occurred during KFC’s 15th anniversary promotion on Saturday August 15, 2026, which offered customers a special package for GH¢15.
The promotion attracted a huge crowd, resulting in heightened tensions as some residents attempted to force their way into the branch.

The situation reportedly escalated at the entrance, prompting officers of the Ghana Police Service to intervene and restore order.
The swift intervention by the police helped bring the situation under control and prevented a potential stampede as officers worked to disperse the crowd and secure the premises.
Although calm has since been restored, the shattered glass door serves as a stark reminder of the disorder that occurred during the highly patronised anniversary promotion.
