Following the national discussions surrounding legal vacation in Ghana’s judicial system, after private legal practitioner Samuel Atta Akyea refused to appear in court over what he described as his right to take a legal vacation, new documents have emerged.

In the latest development regarding the controversy, a document that has surfaced online details the judges scheduled to work during the legal vacation period.

The document, sighted by GhanaWeb on X on August 13, 2026, and signed by the Chief Justice, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, lists judges who will sit and hear cases during the vacation period.

According to the document, Court of Appeal Justice Charity Akosua Asem will also sit as a High Court judge during the legal vacation.

Another notable name on the list is Justice Francis Apangabuno Achibonga, the High Court judge currently presiding over the case involving former National Signal Bureau Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahen, is also scheduled to sit during the vacation period.
