The municipal chief executive for Birim Central, Solomon Kusi Brako, has welcomed the decision of the Office of the Special Prosecutor to investigate allegations of bribery and involvement in illegal mining levelled against him.

According to him, he is available for any form of investigation to ensure that his name is cleared in the matter.

Speaking on Accra-based United Television, Solomon Kusi Brako indicated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) came to power on the back of their decision to fight corruption, and therefore it is imperative that as a public officer, he supports to help in the fight against corruption.

“It is welcome news. What I know is that if you avail yourself to work in the public office, you have to agree that you can be investigated while in office and even when you are out of office. If the special prosecutor can investigate this matter, it will bring an end to the baseless and unfounded allegations that have soiled my image in the past year.

“I have no problem with the investigation, and as a leader who does not support corruption, I am all for it. The NDC and President Mahama were voted into office to help fight corruption, so if there are calls for investigations into the work I do, it is a good step,” he said.

On the videos of him cursing the Member of Parliament, he denied cursing, indicating that he just had to tell the gods to come and intervene and bring out the truth to light.
