It’s time to implement Nkrumah’s legacy-Samia

The daughter of the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Member of Parliament for the Jomoro Constituency Samia Nkrumah has said that it was time to repackage and implement Nkrumah’s vision without blame or accusation.

‘’What the country needs now is unity. It is only through that, that Nkrumah’s legacy can be revived and implemented in an appreciable speed’’ Samia said

She urged politicians to take lessons from the bittersweet past, draw inspirations and contribute towards the common good of the people.

She remarked that policy maker must remain focused and united and take advantage of Nkrumah’s legacy for National development According to her President Mills to a large extent has rehabilitated the reputation and vindicated the works of Nkrumah a lot more needs to be done. ‘’government must go beyond praising him, and move into implementing his visions and policies to ensure a better Ghana’’ Samia said.

She argued that the visions and policies of Ghana’s first President and Africa’s personality of the millennium Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah are as relevant today as they were some fifty four years ago.

Hon. Samia Nkrumah indicated that the time has come for Ghana to stop finding solutions from outside, and called for government to vigorously pursue policies and programs that will put value on the country’s resources.

‘’we need to substantially support our indigenous human resource and the private sector to ensure self sufficiency and ensuring a resolute economy. We don’t have to depend on the outside world to solve our solutions we have everything here in Ghana why look outside’’ Samia Nkrumah

She credited the President Mills led government in its contributions to ensuring the dreams and ideals of her father are aflame.
