Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo is closing in on a move to Turkish Super Lig side Gençlerbirliği after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the club.

The 28-year-old is understood to have agreed to a two-year contract, with an option for a further season, as he prepares for a new chapter following his departure from Real Oviedo.

Sibo is expected to earn around €1 million per season under the proposed agreement, with the Turkish outfit emerging as his preferred destination.

The move would see the midfielder continue his career in Europe after two seasons in Spain, where he became an important member of the Oviedo squad.

Sibo joined Real Oviedo in 2024 following his spell with SD Amorebieta and played a significant role in the club’s campaign. He was part of the squad that helped Oviedo secure promotion to La Liga before featuring in their return to Spain’s top flight.

His contract expired at the end of June, with Spanish reports confirming that he would leave the club after the 2025/26 campaign.

The Ghana international has subsequently attracted interest from several clubs following an impressive period in Spain.

Sibo has also established himself in the Black Stars setup and was included in Ghana’s 2026 World Cup squad.

With personal terms reportedly agreed, Gençlerbirliği are now expected to complete the remaining formalities before making the transfer official.
