Ghana defender Abdul Mumin has dismissed reports linking him with a move to Girona, describing the claims as "fake news".
The former Rayo Vallecano centre-back became the subject of fresh transfer speculation after journalist Miquel Costa of Girona FM claimed on X that Girona were still working on a possible move for the Ghana international.
According to the report, Mumin had recently been training in Vigo and allegedly failed a medical with LaLiga side Celta, which reportedly affected other potential moves in Spain.
The report further claimed that Girona were prepared to take the physical and financial risk of signing the 27-year-old defender.
However, Mumin has directly rejected the claims. Responding to Costa's post on X, the Ghanaian simply wrote: "Fake news."
His response appears to dismiss both the claims surrounding his medical situation and the suggestion that negotiations with Girona are ongoing.
Mumin is currently a free agent after leaving Rayo Vallecano this summer following several seasons with the Spanish club.
The defender had established himself as an important member of the Rayo squad during his time in Vallecas and is now considering his options as he looks for a new club.
With Mumin publicly denying the latest report, his next destination remains unclear as the transfer window continues.
