Ghanaian-German attacking midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has joined VfL Osnabruck from Freiburg on a free transfer, moving from the Bundesliga to the 2. Bundesliga.

The 30-year-old completed the switch on 10 August 2026 and becomes part of Osnabruck’s midfield options. Kyereh, who was born in Accra and holds Ghanaian and German nationality, plays primarily as an attacking midfielder and is right-footed.

He arrives after his spell with Freiburg, the Bundesliga club he leaves to join Osnabruck. The move brings an experienced player into Osnabruck’s squad as the club competes in Germany’s second tier.

Kyereh’s career includes a period at SV Wehen Wiesbaden, with whom he won the Hessen Cup in the 2018-19 season. He also won the German Under-19 Bundesliga North/North-east championship with VfL Wolfsburg’s under-19 side in 2013-14

The midfielder developed in Germany after being born in Ghana and has retained links to both countries through his nationality. At 1.79m, he offers Osnabruck an attacking presence in the central areas of the pitch, where his preferred role is behind the forwards.

His arrival follows a career that has included Bundesliga football with Freiburg and earlier experience connected to the German professional game.

He now joins an Osnabruck side competing in the Bundesliga, with the transfer completed without a fee.

Kyereh’s market value is listed at €100,000, although Osnabruck did not have to pay a transfer fee to secure his move from Freiburg. No new contract expiry date has been given for his stay at the club.

The transfer was completed on 10 August, with Kyereh moving to VfL Osnabruck as a free agent from Freiburg.
