The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North Constituency, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, has continued to lobby for the asphalting of roads within the constituency as part of efforts to fulfill her campaign promises.

According to her, the road improvement projects are aimed at enhancing transportation within communities and stimulating local economic activity.

She has collaborated with the Ministry of Roads and Highways and its agencies to transform rough inner-city roads into durable asphalt-paved surfaces.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing road and drainage projects in the Abofu and Alogboshie communities, the Assembly Member for the Abofu Electoral Area, James Aklogo, said the completed asphalt roads would bring relief to drivers and residents by reducing dust, lowering vehicle maintenance costs, and improving access to local markets and health facilities.

He praised Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni for making infrastructure development a key priority in the constituency.

Aklogo also cautioned residents of Alogboshie against washing vehicles on the roads, spilling oil, or using the roads for cooking, as such practices could damage the newly constructed surfaces.

He further appealed to residents to cooperate with contractors to ensure the projects are completed on schedule, noting that the works are expected to be finished within the stipulated timeframe.

Some residents of Alogboshie expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the MP and the government for undertaking the projects, which they said would bring significant relief and improve living conditions in the community.
