Former Afram Plains MP, Betty Nana Efua Krosbi Mensah, has rejected claims that the ruling NDC government’s Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) initiative is not yielding results.

Speaking on the Lowdown on GhanaWeb TV, the former legislator indicated that investigators must be allowed to complete their work before making their findings public.

Reacting to a range of questions on the number of convictions achieved by ORAL, she maintained that the government remained committed in its anti-corruption fight and would not spare culprits regardless of political affiliation.

“I think ORAL is working irrespective of your political affiliation,” she stated.

The former legislator explained that investigations require time and due diligence, arguing that authorities cannot simply announce conclusions without first establishing the facts and gathering sufficient evidence.

“It's a work in progress. You have no idea the number of cases that have come up. Due diligence must be served. They need to do proper investigations and make sure that before they come out with any report, the right evidences are just clear. And so, I'm not disappointed, and I'm not shocked. I am very certain that anybody who finds himself wanting or has dug his or her hands into public coffers will definitely be punished.” she said.

Krosbi Mensah further urged Ghanaians to exercise patience, saying that investigations into alleged wrongdoing are not processes that should be rushed for political convenience.

“I mean, they want to miss incarceration…if Yamin and Abanga who are being cited by NPP are found culpable, they will be dealt with,” she said.

She assured that where investigations establish culpability, the law should take its course.

She expressed confidence in Ghana’s judicial institutions and said the public would eventually know the outcome of ongoing cases.

“I am confident. A lot more issues are coming up. I think so far the issues that are coming up, if I'm not too wrong, they round into hundreds. And so, if today we are hearing two or three, it means that there's more to come. So, everybody exercise patience,” the former MP stated.
