The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has commenced nationwide stakeholder engagements on the just passed Ghana Cocoa Board Bill, 2026, as part of efforts to gather views on the legislation and its potential impact on the cocoa industry.
The first engagement brought together representatives of cocoa farmer groups, civil society organisations, and the Licensed Cocoa Buyers Association of Ghana (LICOBAG).
The session provided stakeholders with an opportunity to examine the provisions of the Bill and discuss their implications for Ghana’s cocoa sector.

The engagement forms part of COCOBOD’s broader efforts to ensure that key stakeholders, particularly those directly involved in the cocoa value chain, have an opportunity to contribute to discussions on the proposed legislation.
The nationwide consultations are expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to raise concerns, make recommendations, and offer perspectives that could help shape the final legislation.
Further stakeholder engagements are expected to be held across the country as the consultation process continues.
