Captain Marine Dafeur opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a superb long-range free-kick before Lynda Bendris doubled the lead nine minutes later after capitalising on a goalkeeping error.

Algeria controlled the contest from start to finish to secure second place in Group A behind hosts Morocco, while Kenya bowed out of the tournament without a point.

They will now shift their focus to the quarter-finals, while Kenya end their campaign still searching for their first-ever WAFCON win despite showing flashes of promise throughout the tournament without a point.
