Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has cautioned contractors, investors and the general public to be vigilant against individuals allegedly posing as middlemen to sell road contracts under the government's Big Push infrastructure programme.

According to the minister, the projects are being awarded through official government procedures, making any offer to "sell" a contract fraudulent and potentially criminal.

In a post on X, Agbodza issued a strong warning to anyone approached with such offers, urging them to report the perpetrators to law enforcement authorities.

“BIG PUSH projects NOT FOR SALE. Report ANYONE offering a ‘Big Push project’ for sale to the nearest police station,” Agbodza wrote.

The caution comes amid reports that some individuals are allegedly exploiting the government's flagship road infrastructure initiative by claiming they can secure contracts for a fee.

Agbodza stressed that no individual has the authority to sell contracts under the Big Push programme, insisting that all procurement processes will be conducted through the appropriate official channels.

He further reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the implementation of the programme, while encouraging the public to assist security agencies with credible information that could lead to the investigation and prosecution of anyone engaging in such fraudulent activities.
