Former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, had her 2024 High Court conviction and 10-year prison sentence overturned by the Court of Appeal.

The appellate court on July 30, 2026, acquitted and discharged her, ruling that the prosecution failed to prove the charges against her beyond reasonable doubt.

Following the decision, Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, directed the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to appeal the Court of Appeal’s ruling.

Tamakloe-Attionu, who served as MASLOC CEO from 2013 to 2017, was convicted over several charges involving alleged financial breaches.
