Enoch Deegbe Esq, the lawyer for acquitted former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, has described public criticism on social media as "emotional outbursts."

According to him, the law operates independently of public opinion in the wake of the Court of Appeal ruling on July 30, 2026.

His comments come after the Court of Appeal overturned the 10-year prison sentence for Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, acquitting and discharging her after ruling that prosecutors failed to prove the financial crime charges beyond reasonable doubt.

Deegbe, in a post shared by journalist Serwaa Amihere on X on July 30, 2026, emphasised that the judicial system's focus on legal standards and evidence rather than sentiment, framing the successful appeal as a victory for due process after his client's extradition and imprisonment.

"The comments on social media about Sedina Tamakloe's discharge are just emotional outbursts. The law doesn’t deal with public opinion," he is quoted as saying.
