As the family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, prepare to lay him to rest, many have pondered on his transformative works during his lifetime.

The late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka is widely known for indigenous technology, industrialisation and faith-based development.

The founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and the Kantanka Group of Companies, died on September 11, 2025, at the age of 113, leaving behind a legacy of innovation, aimed at boosting nation building.

Throughout his lifetime, he championed the belief that Africa could design, manufacture and develop its own technologies, a vision that culminated in the establishment of the Kantanka Automobile Manufacturing Company and numerous other indigenous innovations.

According to an invitation circulated by the Kantanka family, and sighted by GhanaWeb on July 28, 2026, his funeral activities will begin with a burial service on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Gomoa Mpota near Winneba in the Central Region.

The final funeral rites will follow on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Independence Square in Accra, while a thanksgiving service is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

The late Apostle Kwadwo Safo was widely regarded as one of Africa's foremost indigenous inventors and industrialists.

He inspired millions through his philosophy of combining faith, science, technology and hard work to drive national development.

His contributions earned him numerous national and international honours that cemented his place among the continent's most influential figures.

As Ghana prepares to lay him to rest, many will remember Apostle Safo not only as the founder of Kristo Asafo and the creator of the Kantanka Mission, but as a visionary whose dream of an industrialised and self-reliant Africa continues to inspire generations.
