Ghana's Black Satellites suffered a disappointing start to their 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship campaign after a 4-2 defeat to arch-rivals Nigeria in Côte d'Ivoire.

Despite finding the net twice, the Black Satellites were unable to contain Nigeria's attack as the Flying Eagles secured all three points in an entertaining six-goal contest.

The result leaves Ghana with work to do in the competition, but the team will have an immediate opportunity to respond when they face Burkina Faso in their second group match on July 30.
