Former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has for the first time opened up about an alleged attempt on her life, claiming she survived after 48 bullets were fired at her vehicle.

It will be recalled that Adwoa Safo was allegedly shot at multiple times on June 21, 2026, while sitting in her vehicle outside the residence of her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.

Speaking about the incident on Angel TV on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Adwoa Safo said she believes she escaped death through divine intervention and described the attack as a deliberate attempt to kill her.

"I would have died from what happened. If not for God, who saved me I would have died. I survived 48 bullets in my car, and not everyone can survive that. If the bullets fired had been one or two, I would have said it wasn't intentional or had no intention to cause harm, but for 48 bullets, it means I was targeted, and it was a shoot-to-kill," she said.

According to her, she believes she was the target of the attack, explaining that most of the bullets were fired at the back seat of her vehicle, where she would normally have been seated.

"The doctors who treated me when I travelled outside were surprised, asking how I survived the incident. God delivered me from it, and I think the people who were behind the shooting targeted me because the bullets were directed at the back seat of my car where they thought I was seated, but that day, I was the one driving," she stated.

Adwoa Safo explained that she had travelled alone that day to meet her brother over a family matter involving the succession of their late father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo.

According to her, she did not have her driver or bodyguards with her because it was a weekend.

She also believes the way she was dressed that day contributed to her survival.

"On weekends, I don't walk with my bodyguards, and I don't have my driver's around, so I went alone to go and speak with my brother. I went there alone without protection to discuss with him, for us to find an amicable solution to the people who had opposed his succession to our father," she said.
