Activities marking the 150th anniversary of the Supreme Court will result in the suspension of court sittings across the Greater Accra Region on Tuesday, July 28, and Friday, July 31, 2026.

The anniversary programme includes a climax event at the Ohene Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), on July 28, 2026, and a thanksgiving service at the Accra Ridge Church on July 31, 2026.

In a circular dated July 23, 2026, Judicial Secretary Musah Ahmed said the Chief Justice had directed judges and magistrates in the Greater Accra Region to participate in the events.

As a result, all courts in the region will not sit on the two dates.

“Consequently, no court sittings should be held on Tuesday, 28th July 2026 and Friday, 31st July 2026,” the circular stated.

The commemorative events form part of activities marking 150 years since the establishment of Ghana’s Supreme Court.
