Top manager Jürgen Klopp is set to be officially unveiled as head coach of the German national team following successful talks.

According to Sky Sport Germany correspondent Florian Plettenberg, the German federation has concluded negotiations and reached a full agreement on a contract running until 2030.

Klopp and Red Bull boss Oliver Mintzlaff reportedly met at a secret location in New York to finalize the remaining details of his departure.

It was indicated that the final arrangements involving Klopp and his commercial partners will be put into writing after the World Cup final.

The coach is expected to sign his contract in Frankfurt on Friday, July 24, 2026, when the deal will also be officially announced. A DFB press conference is planned for the new manager to engage the media on pertinent issues relating to the job.

The coach will have the opportunity to outline his vision for the national team, which has struggled in recent international tournaments.

He will succeed Julian Nagelsmann as Germany’s new Bundestrainer following the team’s shocking Round of 32 exit against Paraguay at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The respected coach led Liverpool to eight major trophies, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, EFL/Carabao Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FA Community Shield.

Klopp will now lead Germany into the 2028 UEFA European Championship and, potentially, the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
