Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has praised the Inspector-General of Police's special anti-crime team, Black Maria, for its operations against criminal activities in communities across the Ashanti Region.

In a video shared on the Facebook page of the Manhyia Palace on Thursday, July 23, 2026, the Asantehene said the team's efforts were helping to improve security and protect lives and property.

Addressing members of the team when they paid him a special visit, Otumfuo commended them for their dedication and encouraged them to remain focused on their work.

“I want to commend you for the excellent work you are doing. Your efforts are in the interest of Ghana and contribute to the safety and well-being of us all. This is a responsibility that requires commitment, dedication, service and love for the country,” he said.

Otumfuo also urged the officers to remain alert and continue serving the country with professionalism.

“The decision by the IGP to select you for this task shows the confidence placed in your capabilities. I urge you to continue with the good work, remain vigilant and stay committed to protecting our communities,” he added.
