Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has completed a move to Ipswich Town

Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has completed his transfer from Leicester City to Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.

The deal, which is subject to league and international clearance, brings an end to the 22-year-old’s three-year stay with the Foxes after establishing himself as one of the club’s most exciting attacking players.

Issahaku joined Leicester ahead of the 2023/24 season on loan from Sporting CP and played a key role in their promotion-winning campaign. His pace, creativity and ability to take on defenders made him a standout performer as Leicester lifted the Championship title and secured an immediate return to the Premier League.

Following his impressive loan spell, Leicester made his move permanent in the summer of 2024, and the Ghana international continued to be an important figure for the club.

During his time at the King Power Stadium, Issahaku made 100 appearances across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing several assists.

Leicester confirmed his departure in an official statement, thanking the winger for his service and contributions over the past three seasons.

"We would like to thank Abdul for his efforts over the last three seasons,” the club said.

Issahaku also represented Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he helped the Black Stars reach the Round of 32 before they were eliminated by Colombia following a 1-0 defeat.

The move to Ipswich marks a new chapter for the talented winger, who arrives with valuable experience in English football and is expected to add more attacking threat to Kieran McKenna’s side.
