A prophecy by Prophet Roja, founder and leader of Roja City International Church, about the legal troubles of Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has resurfaced following his sentencing.

The prophecy was made on October 30, 2025, during a televised broadcast on Onua TV, months before Wontumi was sentenced by an Accra High Court in the Samreboi illegal mining case.

In the prophecy, Prophet Roja claimed he had seen Wontumi being jailed for 15 years unless Ghanaians prayed for him.

"I am seeing something about Chairman Wontumi, and it’s the number 15. If Ghanaians don’t pray for him, he will be jailed for 15 years. I am saying it on TV. His loved ones and supporters should pray for him because what I see looks like a report all over the news with the number 15 appearing on it, saying Wontumi has been jailed for 15 years," he said.

The preacher also claimed that Wontumi had wronged someone who was supposed to help him in a difficult situation and urged his family and supporters to pray for him.

"He should pray hard. He has wronged someone who is meant to intercede for him and grant him freedom. There is some communication ongoing about him, and if God does not show him mercy, Ghanaians will witness what I'm saying.

"His loved ones should put aside politics and intercede for him," he added.

Although Prophet Roja mentioned a 15-year jail term in his prophecy, Chairman Wontumi was sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment with hard labour.

Wontumi was standing trial on six charges, including the unlawful assignment of mineral rights without the approval of the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.

Meanwhile, a breach of the Minerals and Mining (Licensing) Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2176) carries a minimum sentence of 15 years upon conviction.
