Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has advised newly elected NPP Central Regional constituency executives to approach politics as a spiritual exercise, stressing the need for unity and focus ahead of the 2028 elections.

Addressing the executives during a regional gathering and shared on X on July 20, 2026, Afenyo-Markin reiterated the importance of faith in political leadership.

“Politics is a spiritual exercise; don’t do it with your naked eye,” he told the executives, urging them to call on God for guidance at critical crossroads.

He further prayed for blessings on the party, the region, and the nation.

“May God bless our great party, the New Patriotic Party. May God bless the Central Region. May God bless our homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong,” he said.

His remarks come at a time when the NPP is reorganising its grassroots structures following internal elections across the country.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) recently held its internal elections across all constituencies in Ghana to elect new executive officers at the grassroots level.

These elections are part of the party’s reorganisation process as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
