Detective Lance Corporal Confidence Tetteh, a police officer with the Cybercrime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has made history after becoming the first recipient of the University of Cape Coast’s (UCC) maiden Provost’s Award.

D/L/Cpl Tetteh was adjudged the overall best Level 400 student in her field of study at the UCC College of Distance Education, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Behaviour and Conflict Management.

According to a post shared on the official Facebook page of the Ghana Police Service on July 20, 2026, she achieved an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.8229 for the 2025/2026 academic year, earning her the maiden award.

The Ghana Police Service said the recognition was the first in the history of the programme and celebrated Detective Tetteh’s achievement as an example of how dedication to national service and academic excellence can go hand in hand.

The Service described her feat as a reflection of discipline, commitment and the continuous pursuit of professional growth among modern police officers.

“From tackling cybercrime to topping her class, Detective Tetteh embodies the spirit of the modern Ghanaian police officer — sharp, disciplined, and committed to continuous growth,” the Service added.

The Ghana Police Service congratulated Detective Lance Corporal Tetteh on the achievement.

“We celebrate her dedication and congratulate her on this remarkable achievement!”, the post added.
