Popular Somanya radio presenter, Charles Ofosu Gyeabour Barima, widely known as DJ Sly Ziggy, has passed away. The Rite FM presenter died in the early hours of July 17, 2026, after a short illness.

Announcing the death on Facebook, Leyla Images wrote, "The Rite FM, Somanya family has been thrown into mourning following the sudden passing of Charles Ofosu Gyeabour Barima, affectionately known as DJ Sly Ziggy, in the early hours of today".

It extended its condolences to his immediate family, friends, colleagues at Rite FM.

"This unfortunate news has come as a shock to many within the media fraternity and the wider Krobo community. We extend our deepest condolences to his immediate family, friends, colleagues at Rite FM, and everyone affected by this painful loss". it added.
