Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham has responded sharply to comments made by Three Lions head coach Thomas Tuchel, who criticised England’s performance after their win over Norway.

England battled to a 2-1 victory over Norway to secure their place in the semi-final, where they will face defending champions Argentina in a high-stakes encounter.

Bellingham scored a brace to send his side through in a tough contest, with Norway matching the Three Lions in a fiercely competitive match.

After the game, Tuchel expressed disappointment with England’s performance, saying the team made too many mistakes, conceded chances, and failed to dominate proceedings.

“We were lucky today. The way we played was sloppy; we made a lot of technical mistakes. It has nothing to do with mentality. We need to play better,” the coach told journalists.

In a subsequent interview, Bellingham was asked about his coach’s assessment but disagreed with the criticism.

He argued that the comments were unfair, insisting that the players fought hard to secure a win against a strong Norwegian side and deserved recognition for their efforts.

“Tuchel said we didn’t play well? Yeah, well, whatever. It’s difficult out there. All the players put in a very tough shift. My thoughts and appreciation go out to the players who worked hard. Maybe he doesn’t know what it’s like to play in those conditions against Haaland, Ødegaard, Nusa, and Sørloth. That’s not an easy team to play against,” the Real Madrid midfielder said.
