Three dead, several injured in police anti-drug operation at Sayerano

​A police operation targeting an alleged drug peddler in Sefwi Sayerano in the Western North Region has turned fatal, leaving three people dead and others injured following a violent clash between residents and law enforcement.

​Officers from the Sefwi Wiawso Divisional Police Command encountered fierce resistance from community members during the attempted arrest.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to OTEC News, Bismark Appiah Kubi Papilo, the situation escalated into a confrontation, prompting police to open fire.

Two individuals died at the scene, while others sustained severe injuries, including fractures and gunshot wounds.

A third victim later succumbed to critical injuries.

The unfortunate tragedy has left the community gripped by tension and grief, with grieving families and residents demanding an independent investigation into the police's use of lethal force.
