A South African activist has called on African governments to emulate Ghana's recent evacuation efforts and urgently remove their citizens from South Africa amid growing concerns over xenophobic attacks.
In a video snippet shared by @askghmedia and sighted by GhanaWeb on June 10, 2026, the activist appealed to countries across the continent to take proactive steps to protect their nationals residing in South Africa.
“Ghana has set a good precedent. All African countries must follow suit. Please come for your people before it's too late,” he said.
The remarks come against the backdrop of renewed tensions and reported xenophobic incidents targeting foreign nationals in parts of South Africa, prompting concerns among affected communities and governments.

The activist argued that African countries should not wait for the situation to deteriorate before taking action, urging them to organise evacuations similar to those undertaken by Ghana.
He also reiterated calls for stricter immigration enforcement in South Africa, expressing opposition to illegal migration into the country.
“We cannot allow our country to be polluted by illegal immigrants in the name of ‘you helped us during apartheid,’” he stated.
According to him, South Africans are demanding that the government devote more resources to securing the country's borders and preventing unlawful entry.
“We are commanding our government to invest more resources to ensure that foreigners do not enter the country illegally anymore,” he added.
