Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has called on Ghanaians to rally behind Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey, insisting that the player remains innocent until proven guilty.

Speaking ahead of Ghana's upcoming international engagements, Ampofo Ankrah urged the public and the national team to remain focused amid ongoing discussions surrounding the former Arsenal midfielder.

According to the NSA boss, suggestions in some foreign media reports that England players could refuse to shake Partey's hand should the two nations meet must not distract the Black Stars from their objectives.

"Thomas Partey needs our full support. He is innocent until proven otherwise. The suggestion by some foreign media portals that England players might refuse to shake his hands when the two teams meet should be ignored. Focus is key," he stated.

His comments come amid heightened public discourse surrounding Partey, with the midfielder continuing to attract attention both on and off the pitch.
