The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, paid a visit to the General Overseer of the Believers Worship Center, Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, to seek divine blessings ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The event took place on June 7, 2026, as the minister expressed optimism that with the clergyman’s blessings and support, the Black Stars would excel at the tournament.

The Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency noted that since Ghana will play against Croatia in Philadelphia, he believes there will be success for the team with the help of the “Philadelphia God.”

“Ghana’s first match will be played in Toronto, Canada, against Panama. The second will be in Boston against England, and the third group-stage match will be in Philadelphia against Croatia in the US.

“I am not a prophet, but I know that since Philadelphia is one of the cities hosting our matches, I believe the God of Philadelphia will rescue the team to progress in the tournament. We know the support you’ve been rendering to the sporting fraternity, especially for the disabled,” he said in Twi during the service.

Afterwards, Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah stated that he was delighted to receive a sports minister in his congregation for the first time in his ministerial work.

The prophet prayed for Kofi Adams, declaring that he was blessed to go for glory and would return with testimony of an unprecedented record after the tournament.

“May the Lord bless you. This is my first time meeting a sports minister in Ghana. I am proclaiming on you to go for your testimony. Go for it, you are free. What has never happened and eyes have not seen in Ghana and Africa is what you will bring home,” the clergyman said.

This forms part of the sports minister’s initiative to seek divine blessings just days before the commencement of the 2026 World Cup, set to begin on June 11, 2026.
