Lamine Yamal has been named La Liga Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign after a standout year for Barcelona, capping another breakthrough season for the teenage sensation.

The 18-year-old produced impressive numbers across the league, scoring 16 goals and providing 11 assists in just 28 appearances as FC Barcelona successfully defended their La Liga title under head coach Hansi Flick.

Yamal saw off strong competition for the award, beating players including Kylian Mbappé, Pablo Fornals, Nicolas Pépé and Vedat Muriqi to land the prestigious honour.

The award was confirmed by La Liga, who celebrated the winger’s impact throughout the season as he continued his rapid rise from academy prospect to one of European football’s most decisive attacking players.
