A viral video showing a heavy-duty tracked bulldozer being driven directly on an asphalted public road, leaving a visible trail of severe structural damage has sparked a wave of public anger on social media.

Instead of being legally and safely conveyed on an appropriate flatbed or low-bed trailer, the Caterpillar D-series bulldozer was driven straight down the asphalt corridor by its operator.

The incident, which was captured by a concerned resident in Effiduase, was shared by AskGHmedia on X on June 2, 2026.

“See the destruction this vehicle has caused to the asphalt road. Instead of being transported on a low-bed trailer, it was driven on the road,” the accompanying post caption read.

The footage quickly sparked fierce condemnation on social media, with netizens demanding immediate punitive action from law enforcement and municipal authorities against both the driver and the company owning the machinery.

Furious citizens tagged official law enforcement handles, calling for swift accountability.

An X user identified as @Mapee74 directly tagged the Ghana Police Service, writing: “...this operator needs to be arrested asap what nonsense is that.”

Another user, @Omonisam01, questioned monitoring mechanisms along the route, stating, “He certainly passed through one or two Police checkpoints with no attempt to stop or arrest him after seeing how he's destroying the road. Eii Ghana.”

Some commentators suspected the heavy machinery was tied to illicit operations, with user @interstellarGh noting: “I'm sure this even belongs to a Galamsey [illegal mining] operator.”

Beyond simple arrests, some users argued that the state must use the driver as a scapegoat to deter future destruction of critical public infrastructure.

“This [operator] needs to be arrested, prosecuted, and jailed for not less than five years," argued user @allah_mensah. "Fined for not less than GH₵100,000 for destruction of property and serve an additional two years of community service. His license should be suspended for the next 10 years.”
