The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has cautioned prospective students and employers against enrolling in or accepting certificates from 70 institutions it says are not recognised in Ghana.
In a public notice dated May 28, 2026, GTEC said the affected institutions have not met the required quality assurance standards, warning that qualifications obtained from them may not be recognised for academic, professional, or employment purposes, a report by citinewsroom.com on June 1, 2026, indicated.
“The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) wishes to inform the public that the institutions listed below are currently not recognised by the Commission due to various quality assurance concerns,” the notice stated.
