Leading sports betting brand betPawa has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Ghanaian football by providing over US$300,000 in financial support to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup and Women’s AFCON.
The latest support package builds on years of collaboration between betPawa and the GFA, a partnership that has grown into one of the most visible private-sector investments in Ghana's football landscape.
Beyond sponsoring domestic competitions, betPawa has gained recognition for introducing the Locker Room Bonus programme, an initiative that directly rewards players after victories in both the Ghana Premier League and the Women's Premier League.
The programme has distributed over US$500,000 in bonuses to players and has been widely praised for bringing tangible financial benefits directly to athletes.
Speaking on the brand's continued support, Head of Local Marketing and CSR, Borah Omary Ndanyungu, said the partnership is rooted in a shared vision for the future of Ghanaian football.
"Partnerships matter most when they endure beyond a single season or a single competition. Our relationship with Ghana football has been built on trust, shared ambition and measurable impact. We are proud to continue walking this journey with the GFA as Ghana pursues success on the continental and world stage."
Reacting to the gesture, GFA Vice President Mark Addo said betPawa’s support for Ghana football over the years is admirable and commendable.
He said the support will go a long way in helping the Black Stars and Black Queens excel in the various competitions this year.
“Today’s event and announcement matter to the GFA because they send a clear message that Ghana football has partners that believe in its future. To the Black Stars and Black Queens, I say this: the support you receive today is not merely a reward. It is a vote of confidence in your ability, your character and your capacity to make Ghana proud. Carry that responsibility with humility, determination and purpose.
To our friends at betPawa, thank you for your continued trust in Ghana football. Thank you for investing in our players. Thank you for supporting our national teams and demonstrating that corporate partnerships can create a real impact where it matters most — in the lives of athletes and in the future of our game.”
With preparations underway for upcoming international competitions, the support is expected to aid the federation's efforts to ensure the national teams are adequately equipped for the challenges ahead.
The announcement further cements betPawa's position as one of the most active corporate supporters of football development in Ghana, demonstrating how sustained investment can contribute to both sporting success and long-term growth within the game.
