Black Stars forward, Brandon Thomas-Asante, has said that the current Ghana squad is fully focused on restoring the nation’s reputation on the global football stage ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking from the team’s training camp, the striker highlighted the hunger, determination and sense of responsibility within the squad as preparations intensify for the tournament.

“We understand how big an opportunity it is and what it means. We’re going to do everything to put the country back where we should be on the football map,” he said.

Thomas-Asante admitted the sessions have been physically demanding following a long club season, but stressed that the players remain committed to giving their all for the country.

“It’s tiring after the season, and we’re getting our bodies prepared for another push, but every day we’re more and more prepared,” he noted.

The forward also revealed that playing at the World Cup with Ghana has been a lifelong ambition, describing his inclusion in the camp as a dream come true.

“Before I kicked the ball this season, I wrote down on a piece of paper that I wanted to be here. To now be in this camp is an incredible privilege,” he disclosed.

Thomas-Asante further praised the atmosphere in camp and the guidance of head coach Carlos Queiroz, saying the players are embracing the coach’s philosophy and learning from his vast experience.
