I strongly suspect this whole Sulle Yangari arrngement from prison was an orchestration with the Amanten Manhene who Sulle says has given him 30 acres of his land for farming. Who killed Nana Yaw Bediako , the second confessed killer of the late queen mother? Was he killed so he couldn't tell the truth later? Amanten Manhene has land and chieftaincy litigation against the late Abamba Queen mother and the Akokoa Hene who has now been arrested as a suspect as a result of Sule Yangaris allegations, talking from prison serving 57 years as a convicted armed robber. Why is it now that Sule Yangari is bold to appeal against his sentence after several years in jail? Has he been promised anything after the conviction of the Akokoa Chief who most people in the Atebubu /Amanten area think he has framed up? How is he building a storey building while he's in jail? The late Queen mother and the Accused Akokoa Chief are first cousins. This accusation doesn't doesn't add up.

Why are Ghanaians not criticising the judge for reminding the accused persons in custody for two weeks. Why are we Ghanaians not saying that they have not been proved guilty but are in custody and being punished ? Why are we not saying that they have a right to bail and that all offences are bailable ? It is because they are not politicians. But the grant of bail applies to all Ghanaians including politicians. Why is it that if a politician is remanded in custody by a court his political party demontrates and say it is unconstitutional, arbitrary and high handedness. If the accused is not a politician then it is alright to be held in custody.
They are many valid reasons for an accused person to be denied bail. The essence of bail is to ensure that the accused person attends court. If an accused person is not likely to attend court bail should be denied. If bail is granted, the bail conditions should be commensurate with the offence. If an accused person is charged with stealing 50 million Ghana cedis the bailbond is not going to be less than 50 million cedis or is going to be around that figure. A court of competent jurisdiction has power to deny bail if necessary, this is constitutional.
So let's stop this fuss about bail in Ghana, especially the politicians. Those who are not well versed in bail matters should stop lecturing us in respect of bail. Stop tarnishing the image of judges they are only applying the law. If we do not want to keep accused persons in custody let's amend the laws so that neither the police nor the courts and any other authority would have power to detain anyone except upon conviction and sentencing into prison custody.

The prison officers are so corrupt that they facilitate drugs and other criminal activities of inmates. They associate with jailed armed robbers and hardened criminals for monetary gains. Ask their director general whether it is not true. Ask any of them whether its not true. There's hardly any difference between the jailed and the jail officer.
