It was the same for his assistant coach Prince Yaw Owusu, who succumbed to the mounting pressure a month before the end of the season.

He secured 59 points, scored 50 goals, and won over 18 matches. He has also managed Crawley U-21 and Fort William.

‎There is a feeling inside Asante Kotoko that Baffour-Akoto’s style of play would make him suited to their young squad.

The former Black Stars and Ghana U-20 video assistant coach’s standing within the game would help him control the dressing room and could also help with attracting players to the club.

‎There have been some discussions between the two parties. It is clear that Asante Kotoko want an early appointment so the coach can familiarise himself with the club’s structures and the players.
