Black Stars head coach, Carlos Queiroz has called for unity, sacrifice and total commitment as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

In an emotional open letter addressed to Black Stars supporters, Queiroz described the journey ahead as a “Mission (Im)possible” while urging players and fans to stand together behind the national team.

“Today, with 24 days remaining before our first World Cup challenge, we begin what many may call a Mission (Im)possible,” he wrote.

The experienced tactician stressed that success on the international stage would require discipline, relentless effort and dedication from everyone involved with the team.

“We know the price that must be paid sacrifice, discipline, relentless effort, and total dedication ,if we are to honour the dreams and expectations of the people of Ghana,” Queiroz stated.

He also challenged the team to adopt a different mentality from the beginning of the campaign.

“If our dream is to make the difference at the end, we have to start by being different at the beginning,” he added.

Queiroz further linked the team’s mission to national pride, insisting that representing Ghana must come with passion and commitment.

“And when the mission is to serve the pride, prestige, and football soul of Ghana, pain becomes a privilege, sacrifice becomes duty, and commitment becomes our identity.

“We are ready to fight together for every ball, every moment, for our dream,” he said.

The Black Stars are currently in Wales with 28 players ahead of their international friendly against Wales national football team on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
