The real issues leading to the license revocation was not addressed by Ndoum. If the directors and owners were prosecuted together with the revocation we wouldn't be where we are now. The BOG must take the issue to the suprem ... read full comment

First of all if the biggest capitalised bank in Ghana, GCB, has just 185 branches countrywide I cannot believe that GN Bank/S&L was operating a sound business model with 300 branches. Second, if the capital adequacy issue caused panic withdrawals why didn’t it affect peer banks like Fidelity, Zenith, OmiBISC etc? Third, what has alleged government indebtedness to a bank got to do with the banking regulator who job it is to ensure that depositors are satisfied at the banking hall? Fourth, how can a tiny bank like GN S&L disagree with BoG’s valuation. Question is, is there any point evening listening to a shallow Dr as. Nana Kweku Nduom when BoG has taken the bogus revocation judgement to the SC?
